Home of Book of Kells

Trinity is the house of Book of Kells, the renowned “illuminated” manuscript created by monks around AD 800. It’s one of the oldest books in the world and one of the most exquisite. You can also see the Old Library ad be admitted to the Long Room, a striking space that contains 200,000 of the college’s oldest books.

May – September

  • Monday – Saturday – 08.30am – 5.00pm
  • Sunday – 09.30am – 5.00pm

October – April

  • Monday – Saturday – 09.30am  – 5.00pm
  • Sundays – 12.00pm – 4.30pm

How do I get there?

The Book of Kells is on display in the Old Library within Trinity College, located right in the heart of Dublin City Centre. Because of this very accessible location, it will take you less than 5 minutes walking from The Arlington.
